Week 11 Devlog: Landscape
For this assignment, we were tasked with building a landscape with foliage and water, offering a view that showed three other points of interest from the bunker door.
I definitely don't think my landscape / foliage is the best, but I'm at least pleased with what I did with the time I had. My points of interest feel way too empty in my opinion though.
The idea was that the player lived in a world where a toxin/virus found its way into the rainwater, killing most people on earth. The bunker is the player's sort of safe haven, and as you emerge back into the outdoors, you spot 3 points of interest. The bridge, house, and ruins. The house used to belong to you, before you went into your bunker for safety. The ruins had always been there undisturbed, but curiously enough, smoke from a recently lit fire appears to be rising from them. Does that mean someone else is out here, that someone else survived?
I'm also super sorry about the video quality, usually I try and keep my scalability on low, but I did medium here to make sure shadows appeared properly, which kind of tanked my fps/quality. Hopefully I can get this new computer soon, but chances are it won't happen before the semester is over.
Edit: I'm also now realizing as I'm uploading the 1.1 Bunker zip that my previous one wasn't packaged properly, but this one should be! The HDRI is messed up in this build for some reason, but everything else *should* be fine.
